A Durban Day Safari Tour to Tala Game Reserve
Our Durban Day Safari Tour to Tala Game Reserve started with me collecting my clients off their cruise ship, the Nautica in Durban harbor. On our way to Tala game reserve I chatted a bit about the history of Durban and it’s people, as well as pointed out some the sites along the way, including the Vasco De Gama clock, the John Ross and Dick King statue’s, the Muthi Market and a few other interesting sites.
Durban Day Safari Tour to Tala Game Reserve
Our time spent in Tala game reserve was fantastic. My clients couldn’t believe that even after having spent as much time in the park as I have, I still took so many photographs. As I explained to them, I quite simply love my job!
We spotted Rhino early on in the day. Not only were they fairly close to us, they also crossed the road in front of us, at one point one Rhino was close enough for me to touch! After leaving the Rhino too enjoy their mud wallowing in a muddy waterhole, we went in search of other animals.
Rhino & Giraffe Sighted
From Zebra to Blesbok, Rhino to Hippo, and Impala to Wildebeest, we spotted them all! All my clients really wanted to see Giraffe as well and Tala didn’t disappoint. After 3 short hours in the park, we ticked almost everything on our list, including Eland and Kudu.
PheZulu Safari Park
We left Tala Game Reserve a little late and I did have to hurry a bit to our lunch. Everyone was pretty hungry so we decided to stop at my usual spots for photographs and instead go straight into lunch. Everyone tried Durban’s famous “bunny chow” and judging from the empty plates, enjoyed them immensely
Crocodiles & Snakes!
From lunch to PheZulu Safari Park. We enjoyed a fantastic show from the Zulu dancers and were then treated to a tour around the small model village. And then it was off to the Reptile park where we enjoyed a short tour of the park, learning about the Nile Crocodile and the various snakes on display, as well as other reptiles.
Durban City Tour
Finally it was time to return my clients back to the ship. On the way, I treated my clients to a (short) Durban city tour, stopping at Durban City Hall, the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the Post Office and a few other spots as well as a drive along Durban’s “Golden Mile“.
