Shakaland Zulu Cultural Village Tour

Visitors to Durban from around the world are always fascinated by the Zulu people, their traditions and of course, their culture. This day tour departs Durban in the mornings and makes it’s way northwards through the rolling countryside of KwaZulu-Natal to the home of King Shaka, and the Zulu people in KwaBulawayo.


Hluhluwe Imfolozi Full Day Safari Tour – 14 Aug 2014

After an early pickup at 6:30am, we left the Maharani Hotel in Durban, and settled in for the 2,5 hour drive along the north coast to the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. Along the way I chatted to my guests about the history of South Africa and in particular Durban, as well as touched on such subjects as the Anglo Zulu war, the Boers and of course the Zulu King, Shaka; this helped the time fly by on our Hluhluwe Imfolozi Full Day Safari Tour.

Tours to Shakaland

Over the last few weeks I’ve had a few requests for tours to Shakaland, so I’ve been there quite a few times in the last two months or so. And every time I visit, I’m left grinning ear to ear; the place is superb!

On my last visit, I took some video footage on my bottom-of-the-range camera to try and convey the energy and excitement the show itself gives. I also took footage of the start of the tour, where we visited Zulu tailors and blacksmiths, but there was a slight breeze that my camera’s audio decided to play back as a howling gale. No fun at all.
