The Anglo Zulu War of 1879 still today has visitors streaming into KwaZulu-Natal to explore and experience the many sites. The names of Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift are as poignant as ever, and many visitors to the battlefields of KwaZulu-Natal can’t help but get lost in the fascinating accounts of both the Zulu and British men that took part in the campaign.

We offer a range of Anglo Zulu battlefield tours. For those with just a mild curiosity in the history, or perhaps are just battlefields buffs in general, we have both an overnight and 2 night tour available. For those wanting to immerse themselves deeply into the history and experience, we have a 3 and 4 night option available.
The war still today is surrounded in controversy. It’s not always easy to understand why the war begun in the first place, or how the main instigators Sir Frere and the Lord Chelmsford acted in the manor they did. And that is not all. The events at Isandlwana where the Zulu capitalized on the advantages they were given again is mired in controversy, with avid followers either blaming Lord Chelmsford or exalting him.
And what of the Zulu king Cetswayo? Based in Ondini some 100 miles away, he sends is Zulu impis on a collision course with the British, with general instructions on how his army was to conduct itself, leaving the tactical planning up to his generals Ntshingwayo kaMahole Khoza and Mavumengwana kaNdlela Ntuli.
